Creative Writing: Using Photographs

Choose 10 photographs from your personal collection, or from magazines:

For each picture, do the exercise detailed below, to enhance your creative writing skills;

• Picture 1:  Describe the picture in detail
• Picture 2:  Write three questions for this one.  (For example:  Why is the woman in the water?)
• Picture 3:  Write a caption for this photo.
• Picture 4:  Why did the photographer take this picture?
• Picture 5:  If this were a picture from a movie, what would the name of the movie be? (Use your imagination)
• Picture 6:  What happened just before this picture was taken?
• Picture 7:  What happened just after this photo was taken?
• Picture 8:  What colors can you see in this picture?  Try to look up unusual shades in the dictionary.
• Picture 9:  Describe the photographer who is taking the picture.
• Picture 10: Describe the character and personality of any one of the people in the photos you have in this collection.
